Our Story
Highland ACR was established in response to growing concerns about how trades and services were being delivered within the industry. Over time, it became clear that certain business and sales practices prioritised profit over people, often at the expense of honesty and fairness. This approach conflicted with the core belief that any trade should be a fair and respectful exchange resulting in quality workmanship in return for honest remuneration.
The company was founded on the principle that customers deserve transparency, respect, and professionalism at every stage of the job. Highland ACR was created with a mission to do things differently and do them properly.
Since its inception, Highland ACR has grown through genuine customer referrals rather than marketing campaigns. The company also aims to break the mould of inter-trade rivalry by supporting and collaborating with other local businesses. At its heart, Highland ACR believes there’s enough work to go around without the need for unhealthy competition, and that a more honest, cooperative industry benefits everyone.

Josh specialises in diagnosing faults and designing efficient, effective solutions, especially in complex or uniquely built homes and businesses. Whether it’s a commercial refrigeration system or a domestic split system, Josh approaches each challenge with professionalism and pride in his craft.
He’s fully qualified with a Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, holds a Restricted Electrical Licence, and a NSW Contractor’s Licence, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards and in full compliance with industry regulations.
Josh’s Top Tip:
Keep your heat exchangers clean. Wash your A/C filters with water, not a vacuum, and keep fridge condensers dust-free and unobstructed. These simple steps can prevent a long list of issues and unnecessary breakdowns.

This trade never stops evolving. Even with years of experience, there’s always a new challenge to tackle. Most customers also don’t realise that maintaining temperature is far more efficient than trying to cool or heat a space quickly. Josh and the team always take the time to explain the best ways to run your specific system for maximum performance and efficiency..

With refrigeration systems, regular inspections of both evaporator and condensing units are vital. Well-maintained componentry keeps your system running reliably and efficiently.
Something Most People Don’t Know:
In colder months, air conditioning systems often struggle with frosty mornings and frequent defrost cycles. A helpful tip: set your A/C to a lower temperature overnight to help it maintain heat more efficiently come morning, rather than working overtime to catch up.
